More RESULTS or More $$ Money $$ ? How about BOTH! Five tips for soccer speed training business success.
Chochi Valenzuela
The experience of running, playing and thinking faster than you ever have is the greatest motivator any athlete can have.
The biggest motivator a player development professional can have is earing more $$ money $$ teaching soccer specific speed!
In the modern game of soccer, developing speed on the field is now a major key to success.
Over the summer months I was totally surprised by the number of players whose sprinting technique was poor at best... Not due to effort - the kids are putting in the effort, but due to lack of knowledgable coaches and trainers.
There are so many players out there with talent that never, and I repeat NEVER take their game to another level because they never found what I call their 'New Speed.'
Every player has another level of performance and success awaiting them - but 95% of them never get to experience this hidden success because they never found what I call their 'New Speed.'
There are two basic categories you need to focus on when building faster soccer players:
#1 - Speed Training without the Ball.
#2 - Speed Training with the Ball.
Speed training without the ball is what makes you faster.
This is where you come in...
Teaching both skills of speed with and without the ball is where the future of soccer and player development is headed. Therefore, being able to teach these skills is the most valuable training skill you can learn.
By valuable I am talking about two things:
#1 - Valuable for helping and guiding your players to new levels of play and success, and
#2 - Valuable as a skill set that will earn you more and more caoching and training $$ money $$ each year!
I already know you are commited to player development just by the fact you've gotten this far in the article - the player development equation needs committed coaches and trainers to get this new and dynamic training out to the masses.
What I am working hard to do here is to get you to understand that "Soccer Specific Speed Training is The New Wave of Player Development!"
Have you heard me sat that before?
I say it all the time - on my newsletters, on my websites, at the conventions I speak at.... I say it everywhere!
Learning this skill set - 'How to Teach Soccer Specific Speed and Agility' is a money maker!
::: Let's talk demographics and numbers for a moment so you can see the Gold Mine you've just discovered :::
Soccer is the biggest youth sport in the country - This means you have a huge market place. Demographic majority is middle and middle-upper class - This means there is money to spend on new and dynamic programs.
There are maybe, I'm just guessing 10 people/companies in each US state (500 entities) that are speed training soccer teams, clubs and players - This means there is a market for you when you learn these new skills.
95% of these trainers and programs use general speed training methods that are boring and therefore unappealing to the soccer community. This equals and ineffective program.
Or, they have no soccer background and/or any idea what is needed to truly be a faster soccer player.
- This means with our training programs under your belt along with your previous experience as a soccer coach or fitness training professional - YOU HAVE ALMOST ZERO COMPETITION!
All you need to succeed is:
#1 - A tested, proven and flexible program.
Having a program like this means you don't have spend your valuable time trying to reinvent the wheel or figure it all out yourself.
You can get started right away with confidence knowing that you have a proven system backing you up.
In the beginning, people will pay you more for your confidence than your knowledge - but, you've got to have both if you want them to keep paying you...
#2 - Be teachable.
Learn 'what to teach', 'when to teach it', and 'how to teach it.'
OK, so you will have to get out there, run these Soccer Speed Programs, be aware when you make mistakes, be flexible and adjust for the differences between players and group dynamics.
Well coach, that sounds like the same thing you do every day out on the soccer field anyway. Might as well take on something new, gain valuable experience and make more money.
#3 - Be Patient with yourself and the players.
We all have learning curves to go through so be kind to yourself and your players as you/they stumble and move through their learning courve.
Patience is Key to Getting Results.
#4 - Be Persistent!
This training works if you work it the right way.
Don't let you or your players lag in with excuses for there poor efforts.
And, if you are a soccer coach, you can't lag in with excuses as to why you are skipping the speed training portion of your practice sessions.
It takes me 10 sessions to ensure - TO ENSURE - results on the field.
You;ve got to be persistent and 'stick with the program.'
#5 - Learn to Market Yourself!
If you want to make money, you will need to learn how to market yourself or have other people do it for you.
It's simple, if no one know's your in business, you are not in business. I am in the "business" of player development, I am a "paid" coach, my knowledge and expertise are "valuable", and so are you.
